Brief History

Journal of Educational Evaluation for Health Professions (JEEHP, eISSN 1975-5937) launched in 2004 by the suggestion of Dr. Sang-Ho Baik, the second President of Korea Health Personnel Licensing Examination Institute. As the first editor, Dr. Chan-il Park, Professor of Pathology, Yonsei University College of Medicine had worked laboriously for the publication of inaugural issue. It was published in 2004 with 9 papers in Korean. In 2005, the second editor Dr. Sun Huh took over editor and also published Volume 2, one issue with 9 papers. In 2006, the language of text was changed as English only to recruit the papers from outside of Korea and to propagate the invaluable information to all over the world. In 2006, there were 7 papers published. From December 2007, JEEHP began to deoposit DOI XML files to CrossRef so that participation to international journal papers network was possible. From February 2009, it began to participate in PubMed Central. Also JEEHP was included in PubMed at the same time. From 2009, there were increased submissions from outside of Korea. In 2012, there were remarkable number of citation by other related journals. A 2012 two-year impact factor from Web of Science is calculated as 1.0 at the end of year 2012. It was located as international journal from the point of authors and citations. JEEHP has been a member journal of the Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors (2005-), Korean Council of Science Editors (2012-), Council of Science Editors (2008-), the Alliance of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (2010-), the European Association of Science Editors (2011-). the Committee on Publication Ethics (2013-), and the World Association of Medical Editors (2013-).
